Baños, Ecuador

Feeling a burst of energy and a great urge to leave the city, I left for Banos, a town of baths, on Saturday. I arrived in a pretty small town 4.5 hours later, after a windy bus ride down to 1,800m where there was lots more farmland, cows, sheep and beautiful mountains all around. Amazing how beauty can lift your spirits. I feel refreshed after just 24 hours there, where I didn’t do very much besides walk, run in jeans (was desperate), dipped into the thermal baths on a cool evening and met some very interesting people.

Forgot my camera, so I have no photos to show for the weekend, but you may find some nice ones by Libby Zay here.
